Just a quick note - here I present a useful tip that will increase your efficiency when it comes to answering emails. It is based on Gmail, there may be similar features on other email platforms.
I’ve recently been bombarded with emails. From clients, prospective clients, my employees, the heads of three different agencies I work with — you name it, my work email was flooded with it. And it was making me see stars.
If it had a 5-star importance level, I would usually respond immediately unless I was in the middle of something more important, such as saving my baby from being plastered in star stickers. If I didn’t have to respond right away, I would thank my lucky stars and get on with a different more urgent task, often forgetting about it until I received a polite reminder about it a week later.
All in all, I was finding it harder and harder to keep track of which emails required a response, which didn’t, and which I’d already replied to. I had almost as many emails as stars in the evening sky! Only this was nowhere near as peaceful as stargazing can be.
One day, I noticed a little star next to each email, in my gmail account.
